EPIC WEDDING WEEKEND GUIDE >>

Our Story

Dirk met Erika on a night in 2010, as he sauntered across 8th Ave to investigate the sound of women's laughter coming from his neighbor Lisa's house. But their story didn't start there.

Fast forward to 2012, when Erika was training for her first triathlon, and Dirk volunteered to train with her (they both hoped for plenty of swim suits and spandex along the way). They crossed that first finish line together, and haven't stopped training since.

Their adventures have spanned a decade, 3 continents, dozens of passport stamps, and countless selfies together. But the adventures are just beginning.

On December 31, 2021, Dirk proposed at the annual Team 8th Ave New Years Eve Block Party. Erika eventually said YES, after a few awkward moments of stunned silence.

They look forward to sharing many more adventures, finish lines, and NYE countdowns together.

Questions & Answers

Can we bring kids or pets?

plus icon
Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers. Our venue does not allow pets.

How should we dress?

plus icon
Bring the fun! Our wedding will be semi-formal or cocktail with a tropical flair, and brightly colored dresses, suits, etc. are all welcome. Ties not required – dancing shoes recommended.

What are the meal options for dinner?

plus icon
We will have options for our carnivore, omnivore, and herbivore friends alike. Come hungry (and thirsty – it wouldn't be a party without open bar).

Where can we park?

plus icon
While we hope all of you will decide to Uber, there is free parking at The Poynter Institute. Guests who decide to enjoy the open bar will have the option to leave their car overnight and pick it up Sunday morning.
The folks at Poynter want us to make it clear that they are not responsible for cars left overnight. So lock your doors, ladies and gents!

When is the last day to RSVP?

plus icon
Please send your RSVP with confirmation or regrets by Sunday, March 5, 2023. If we haven't heard from you by then, we'll start texting, dropping into your DMs, or sending carrier pigeons.

Where can we send a card or gift?

plus icon
We're honored you are choosing to celebrate with us, and your presence if gift enough! Gifts and cards may be mailed to our home address: 540 8th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Or if you purchase something from our registry (link below), they'll ship it straight to us!
